* 18 local families are currently receiving Chai Lifeline services. 48
local families have been on our active case list over the past few years.
(Thankfully, some children finish treatment and no longer need us.)
* 10 ill children enjoyed two weeks in Camp Simcha or Camp Simcha
Special, oases of hope, love and laughter. The cost of this incredible
vacation from pain and illness is $10,000 per child, but like all Chai
Lifeline services, it is free of charge to families.
* Close to 500 delicious meals have been distributed to local families
in area hospitals.
* 211 requests for transportation assistance have been fulfilled.
* Over 280 hours of respite have been provided
* Additionally, families have availed themselves of Chai Lifeline's
other services, including Big Brothers and Sisters, ChaiLine teleconference
support groups, insurance support, counseling, financial assistance, Yom Tov
Chagigos gifts, and Chanukah and Purim parties. Bereaved families received
crisis counseling and participated in our Healing Hearts bereavement
retreat.
I would like to personally invite you to Chai Lifeline's inaugural
breakfast reception in Passaic, Sunday, May 17th, beginning at 10:00 am in
Zichron Moshe, Rabbi Davis's shul. The breakfast reception is open for both
men and women.
Chai Lifeline is committed to continuing to meet the needs of Passaic's ill
children and their families despite the financial crisis. To do that, they
need our support. I hope you will attend the reception to learn more about
all that Chai Lifeline does for our most vulnerable children, and that you
will contribute generously to the breakfast campaign. All funds raised will
be used locally.
Donations can be made online at www.chailifeline.org/donate.php. Please
include "Passaic breakfast" in the "additional comments" section on the
bottom of the form.
Thanks in advance. I look forward to greeting you at the breakfast.
